Understanding odds formats
How do decimal odds work?
Decimal odds represent the total payout per $1 wagered. Odds of 2.50 mean a $1 bet returns $2.50 total ($1.50 profit + $1 stake).
How do American odds work?
Positive American odds (e.g., +150) show profit on a $100 bet. Negative odds (e.g., −200) show how much you must bet to win $100.
How is implied probability calculated from odds?
Implied probability = 1 / decimal odds × 100%. For example, decimal odds of 2.50 imply a 40% probability (1 / 2.50 = 0.40).
