Llanerchymedd could be seen for miles as emergency crews went to the scene. There were over 20 firefighters dealing with the incident at its height. Relief crews then took over.<br />A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they received the initial alert at 8.39pm yesterday evening, August 22, regarding the blaze. Fire crews were dispatched from Amlwch, Benllech, Llangefni and Menai Bridge, alongside a specialist wildfire unit from Caernarfon.<br />The flames could be spotted from considerable distances due to the island's flat terrain.
